For the past decade, "nutrition intervention" sat in a vague space in public perception in China — somewhere between "eat a bit healthier" and "buy a supplement." Since 2024, a clear shift is underway: Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) — once a niche term inside hospital dietetics — is steadily moving into endocrinology, cardiology, nephrology, and even community clinics.

This is an industry observation, not investment advice, medical advice, or a commercial commitment. Trend statements are synthesized from public industry materials; full citations are noted at the end.

Policy: nutrition intervention as a chronic-care pathway

National chronic-disease control policy has been steadily shifting from a treatment-centric to a prevention-and-management-centric stance. In recent national action plans on chronic-disease control, nutrition intervention is repeatedly called out — not as casual "dietary advice," but as a structured assessment-plan-follow-up loop.

This gives MNT a policy-level legitimacy.

Technology: tools and data finally catching up

MNT has long been viewed as "hard to scale" because plan design relies heavily on the dietitian's experience. The last few years have changed that:

  • Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) is moving out of research and into consumer health
  • Food-recognition / meal-photo tools have meaningfully improved accuracy
  • Health-management SaaS is unifying assessment, plan, and follow-up

These three together give MNT, for the first time, a technical foundation to scale.

Consumer awareness: from "buy a supplement" to "find someone who understands my food"

From user interviews we observe a meaningful shift — more and more clients want to find "one person who actually understands my food," rather than just buy bottles. The role of "health manager" is moving from an ambiguous title to a recognizable service role.

Where YSC sits

What we've been doing is simple: turn the MNT methodology into a deliverable service. We've worked on this for several years now, and what we see is that the market is shifting from "sell products" to "sell continuous care." This isn't marketing language — it's a structural change.

We don't plan to "run the fastest." We don't plan to "shout the loudest." We just want to make sure: when more people need MNT, a tested methodology is ready to be put in their hands.
